After losing their first three games by an accumulative 5 points, Cardiff Blues finally found that elusive ‘W’ against would be semifinalists, Munster.

Across the pitch, this was an incredibly evenly fought match with possession (49/51), territory (48/52), metres (358/342) and tackles (122/119) split by the smallest of margins.

Trading Tries in the first half, the tight margins continued with an initial back and forth trading of the scoreline with the home team going into the break just a point ahead 14 – 13.

For Munster, the unlucky for some 13 point total would be the only scores of their game as the Cardiff defence held strong and attack outwitted and frustrated the opposition adding a further 23 points through a mixture of tries and penalties.
