And for a number of lucky fantasy managers, a bumper weekend of points fell their way to kick off 2019 with a bang.
On a weekend that saw Leinster move 19 points clear of Edinburgh in Conference B, these were the top three fantasy performers from Round 13:
It was a weekend to remember for Leo Cullen’s men as the Dubliners recorded a 40-7 victory over Ulster at the RDS Arena, largely helped by the figure of 22-year-old prop Andrew Porter.
Astute fantasy managers would have spotted the Ireland international picking up 10 points from the encounter as Porter notched up his side’s bonus point in the victory.
Porter wasn’t the only Leinster player to star in the outing with teammates Ross Molony, Conor O’Brien and Sean Cronin among those in this week’s fantasy update.
Munster showed their mettle to overcome the challenge of Inter-pro rivals Connacht at the Sportsground last weekend and central to their cause was the effort of Dan Goggin.
The 24-year-old centre pulled off an impressive brace in the encounter to lead his side to a stirring victory on the road – clinching a noteworthy 12 fantasy points in the process.
The big centre showed exactly how difficult it is to nullify him when the try line is at his mercy and could certainly be a player to consider in future weeks.
Meanwhile, Scotland utility man Dougie Fife was the star as Edinburgh downed Isuzu Southern Kings in a 38-0 victory at BT Murrayfield.
The 28-year-old secured his sides first points of the game in a livewire Saturday night showdown with an impressive break down the wing.
The feat earned Fife a whopping 14 fantasy points – not a tally to be sniffed at after the busy festive period.
Fife wasn’t only man in Edinburgh colours to make his name known in the fantasy side this week – Darcy Graham being the other that made it into the update for his standout performance.
