Thousands of Fantasy Rugby teams were handed a bumper weekend of tries and points as several high-scoring matches in the eighth round of Guinness PRO14 matches took place.

Six teams scored more than 30 points during the course of the weekend, including the intriguing tie between Isuzu Southern Kings and Leinster, which led to the Irishmen securing a 38-31 victory.

But it was Edinburgh’s 31-21 win over Scarlets that led to one of their pack claiming the most fantasy points this week.

Bill Mata (Edinburgh Rugby)

Back-row Bill Mata scored two tries in the bonus-point victory, much to delight of anyone that had selected the Fijian Olympic gold medallist.

The feat meant Mata finished the weekend with a mammoth 27 fantasy points – a player certainly worth considering when he returns from international duty.

Joseph Dweba (Toyota Cheetahs)

It has not been plain sailing for Toyota Cheetahs in the Guinness PRO14 this season, but Joseph Dweba staked his claim to all Fantasy Rugby managers out there.

The South African hooker scored two tries in the narrow defeat to Munster, notching up an impressive 19 fantasy points in the process.

Nikola Matawalu (Glasgow Warriors)

Glasgow Warriors are sitting pretty at the top of the Conference A standings with six victories from their opening eight fixtures and they earned another win against Ospreys last weekend.

Star man Nikola Matawalu pulled off a stunning hat-trick in the victory, gaining 17 fantasy points in the process in a stellar weekend of action for the scrum-half.
