Tiernan O’Halloran of Connacht Rugby appeared at a Disciplinary Hearing today via video conference where the citing complaint against him was dismissed.
A Disciplinary Panel of Rod McKenzie (Chair), Bill Dunlop and Frank Hadden (all Scotland) convened in Glasgow to consider a citing for allegedly making contact to the eye or eye area of No. 14 Jeff Hassler Connacht Rugby against Ospreys Rugby on April 6, 2018 – contrary to Law 9.12, a player must not make contact with the eye or eye area.
After reviewing the video clips and reports, and hearing explanations from the player, the Panel decided that the foul play for which he had been cited had not been established and the citing should therefore not be upheld. O’Halloran is therefore free to return to playing.
