As the Guinness PRO14 Final Series draws closer, all the clubs ramped up the intensity in Round 17 with some high-quality performances.

Duhan van der Merwe, Edinburgh

Three players stood out across the weekend with a brace of tries each, boosting their fantasy points tally with some incredible displays.

Luzuko Vulindlu scored two tries as the Southern Kings made Guinness PRO14 history by securing their first ever league win against the Dragons.

Vulindlu was central to the win, scoring Kings’ first try whilst also making seven tackles and 67 metres overall, giving him 19 fantasy points.

Another player whose points rocketed from a brace of scores was Duhan van der Merwe, who scored Edinburgh’s only tries in their 12-6 victory over Munster.

His first was an excellent finish after he took an incisive supporting line off Dougie Fife, whilst the second came midway through the second half to put space between the two sides.

Matt Healy wins the accolade of the third top performer in Round 17 despite Connacht narrowly losing by a point to Toyota Cheetahs.

The winger showed great pace and power to cross the line twice and was the stand-out player, fighting to the end in the defeat.
