Ospreys make a remarkable comeback

jmcconnell 15 Sep 2006

Looking at the half time score you could have been fooled that The Ospreys were beaten. But thanks to the determination of the West Wales region they fought a remarkable comeback.

The Borders started well and within the opening seven minutes had put 10 points on the board.

The Ospreys could not convert their possession in the first half into points but managed to get on the score board with just five minutes remaining thanks to James Hook’s penalty kick.

Almost as soon as the second half began Stefan Terblanche ran in to score a try and was converted by Hook bringing the lead down to three points.

Justin Marshall and Gavin Henson gave the home side the lift they needed when they were brought on, and soon the scores were leveled. Tal Selly then scored the second try for his side.

A sending off saw the Borders reduced to 14 men and this helped Ospreys increase their lead from a drop kick. The Ospreys also faced a visit to the sin bin but this did not deter them and they managed to grab one last try and conversion, producing 27 unanswered points in the second half.
