Bio

The Welsh official is the most experienced referee in the Guinness PRO14 having made his 150th appearance during the 2016/17 season.

Owens made his first appearance in the Celtic League when he took charge of Border Reivers v Connacht on August 30, 2002.

Since then Owens has gone on to take charge of five Finals in the Championship and six European Cup Finals, he was also appointment as referee for the 2015 World Cup Final between New Zealand and Australia at Twickenham.

Owens has refereed 100 European Cup games and over 75 international Test matches.
