Toyota Cheetahs team to face Zebre Rugby Club

The Toyota Cheetahs will be making history by playing against Zebre in their first Guinness PRO14 home game on Saturday, 16 September in Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein. The match kicks off at 19:35 and will be broadcasted live on SuperSport 1.

To celebrate this special occasion, Toyota South Africa is giving away all ticket for free for this match to allow every supporter the opportunity to join in new adventure. Apart from the excitement brought by Guinness PRO14, Toyota Stadium will have the Toyota Warrior Race and artist like Richard Stirton and Arno Jordaan performing life as part of the festivities. Food enthusiasts can come and enjoy Italian and South African and cuisine.

The Toyota Cheetahs invite all their supporters to be part of this campaign by attending the match in Toyota Stadium on Saturday, 16 September 2017. Although the tickets are free, you still need a physical ticket to gain access to the stadium. Tickets are limited to 10 per person. Tickets can now be collected from one of the designated collection points: Ticket office, Toyota Stadium; online www.fscheetahs.co.za or Toyota Dealerships across the Free State.

Coach Rory Duncan has made a couple of changes to the team:

Sergeal Peterson moves to fullback, replacing Clayton Blommetjies with Luther Obi will be starting on right wing. New comer Ernest Stapelberg will be replacing Robbie Petzer on flyhalf.

In the front row props Ox Nche and Tom Botha moves to the starting line-up with Charles Marais and Johan Coetzee providing cover on the bench. Hookers Torsten van Jaarsveld and to Jacques du Toit will be switching places with Van Jaarsveld in the starting on number 2. Justin Basson will be replacing Rynier Bernardo and Junior Pokomela will be replacing the injured Niell Jordaan.

Nico Lee and Chris Dry are new to the bench. Lee will be making his return after a long term injury he sustained in Super Rugby against the Crusaders on the 29th of April in Toyota Stadium.

Luther Obi (right wing), Ernest Stapelberg (flyhalf), Junior Pokomela (Nr. 8), will be making their Guinness PRO14 debut in the starting line-up. Chris Dry and Nico Lee will be making their debuts when they run onto the field.

“We have a brand of rugby that we want to play and probably haven’t seen much of in the first two games. We want to improve on that in terms of maintaining continuity by challenging teams”, said offense coach, Dave Williams.

The referee for the match is Andrew Brace. He will be assisted by Sean Gallagher and Jaco Peyper. The TMO is Shaun Veldsman.
