Leinster secured home advantage in the Guinness PRO12 semi-finals with victory over Connacht in Galway while Scarlets overcame Newport Gwent Dragons to reign supreme on Judgement Day.

Here’s all you need to know about this weekend’s action:

Leinster head coach Leo Cullen was delighted with his fringe players’ performance against Connacht:

“It certainly keeps them (the players) competitive.

“We purposefully wanted to make changes in these two weeks, trying to keep the squad fresh.

“During the Six Nations and the November internationals, we were missing a good chunk of players and I thought players that were here stepped up really, really well during that period, and I think it’s important that we keep working those guys.”

Cardiff Blues boss Danny Wilson was enamoured with skipper Ellis Jenkins’ performance against the Ospreys.

“We turned over Ospreys ball a number of times and Ellis Jenkins was outstanding. Nick Williams and Josh Navidi were very close behind.

“I thought the players really produced some physicality that the Ospreys maybe struggled to match.

“I don’t know how many occasions I’ve watched the Ospreys do that to the Blues, so it was nice to turn it around.”

Edinburgh head coach Duncan Hodge did not enjoy his team’s ninth defeat in a row at the hands of Benetton Treviso:

“We did have a couple of chances but they dominated a fair amount of the time. Defensively, they were hard to put down, they won the collisions, and we did not get much quick ball.

“We are on a bad run. It doesn’t matter who the opposition was – it is damaging.

“Treviso proved a couple of weeks ago here (when they beat the Ospreys) that they are not a bad side, but this was our doing.”
