Edinburgh Rugby fans buying tickets to this Saturday’s RaboDirect PRO12 opener against Munster at Murrayfield Stadium can take advantage of a fantastic money-back offer!

‘Try before you buy’ means the supporters who have enjoyed getting closer to the high-octane action can use their ticket stub to redeem the cost of their ticket against one season ticket in the same category.

Fans can choose to either sit right on top of the action in the national stadium stands or stand pitch-side, a few metres from the tries and tackles of the best players in northern hemisphere, before heading into the supporter’s bar to talk through the match and hear the players’ reaction to the big match first hand.

Edinburgh Rugby managing director, Craig Docherty, said: “Season ticket memberships are fast approaching record levels for the club and we want to make sure that everyone in the city, the Borders, Fife and beyond gets every chance to enjoy the great atmosphere at our games, and be part of the Edinburgh Rugby family; before, during and after the match.

“We believe Edinburgh Rugby offer one of the best ways to watch professional sport in Scotland, with a choice of pitchside standing, a world-class supporters’ bar and the opportunity to enjoy a pint or a glass of wine while taking in the big match – all in a fun, safe, social and family-friendly atmosphere.

‘We’re confident that if people come along just to see what all the fuss is about, they’ll be keen to come back for more, and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to do that.”

Last season head coach Michael Bradley piloted the club to their biggest season in history and yesterday confirmed that the squad’s Scotland stars are set return for the arrival of the two-time European champions.

The game will be the first taste of competitive action for a number of the players since Scotland’s three-Test tour of Australasia, where they helped to steer the nation to historic wins over Australia, Fiji and Samoa.

Top try-scorer Tim Visser, captain Greig Laidlaw, Nick De Luca, Ross Ford and Ross Rennie could all feature in the big clash, while David Denton rejoins the extended squad for the first time since sustaining the ankle injury that ruled him out of the summer tour.

Seeking to build on the ground-breaking year [the club were the first Scottish side to reach the Heineken Cup semi-final] Scottish Rugby and the club have increased the investment in the squad in the close season.

This strength in depth is crucial to the next chapter in the club’s history, bolstering their campaign for silverware in the Heineken Cup and the RaboDirect PRO12, a league that has produced four European Cup winners in the past five years, with half the semi-finalists coming from the division in the same period.

With a weekly diet of the most competitive schedule offered in northern hemisphere rugby, it’s understandable why a burgeoning fan base is heading for Murrayfield every second week.

Fans who wish to take advantage of the ‘Try before you buy’ MUST retain their ticket stub from the match and return it to the Murrayfield ticket centre (off Roseburn Crescent) to redeem the value of the ticket against a season ticket of the same, like-for-like, category or call 0131 346 5180 during office hours to arrange the purchase by post.
