Warriors ready for Leinster challenge

Glasgow Warriors are desperate to deny Leinster a European and domestic double according to assistant coach Shade Munro.

The Irish province topped the RaboDirect PRO12 table while they have also reached the Heineken Cup final against Irish rivals Ulster .

They take on Glasgow at the RDS having lost to the Warriors in September, their first home defeat in 28 games.

However Leinster gained their revenge in a European clash in Dublin, running out 38-13 winners two months later.

And Munro is eager to repeat the RaboDirect PRO12 success to book a final place against Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium.

Munro told the Daily Record: “The Leinster guys have been going on and on about having three matches left in their season.

“That means they are taking it for granted they will beat us on Saturday.

“They think they will be figuring in both the Heineken Cup and Pro12 finals.

“Their record probably allows them to make these statements and we are not regarding that as any kind of insult. However, we are looking at their words as an extra incentive.

“When they gave us a going-over in the first half of our Heineken tie at the RDS it was probably the turning point of our season.

“That 40 minutes became a real focus and we analysed it to the Nth degree.

“We have been trying to copy what Leinster do – but want to be better at doing it than them!

“The aim is to win quick ball to allow our backs to attack – while also slowing down the opposition supply of possession.”
