Ireland No.8 Jamie Heaslip also broke through to set up a try for Sean O'Brien

Leinster back-row Jamie Heaslip has urged his international teammates to use the Irish provinces’ impressive domestic displays as the catalyst for Six Nations glory.

After taking both the RaboDirect PRO12 – Leinster top the league by nine points – and Europe, three Irish teams qualified for the Heineken Cup quarter-finals, by storm, Declan Kidney has arguably the most in-form squad of players in the championship.

And Heaslip insists the squad should use their vintage RaboDirect PRO12 displays to their advantage, starting with the crunch clash with Wales this weekend.

“Our club teams are going very well so we've got to feed how they're playing into the mix," said Heaslip. "We've got a lot of Leinster players but Munster and Ulster have also qualified for the last eight of the Heineken Cup.

“We just have to bring that form and that blend of styles into the national side and hit the ground running against Wales. You can't win the Six Nations in the first week but you can lose it."
