Glasgow Warriors have been boosted by the return of Scotland No8 Johnnie Beattie to their squad to face Magners League Champions the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Beattie has managed just three league encounters for the Scottish side this season following shoulder surgery but has been released from the national set-up to take his place on the bench for the Warriors for their trip to Wales.

The 25-year-old made his return to the international stage last weekend in Scotland’s defeat to Ireland and will be looking to help his side in their search for a first league victory since their win over Edinburgh.

Glasgow’s last outing in Swansea was their semi-final defeat to the Ospreys in last season’s play-offs and even though that match ended in defeat head coach Sean Lineen still has fond memories of the day.

"It was a massive day for the club and it was a deserved result after the massive strides we had taken in the preceding years,” he said.

"I was delighted with the way we got there and it was a fantastic season – one we need to be proud of.

"The semi-final was a great occasion and these players need to live up to that and give a good account of themselves on Saturday.

"We had the best away record in the league last season and that doesn't come easily so we've got to make sure that we strive to improve every game and that has to continue against the Ospreys this weekend."
