Dragons have to bounce back

Paul Turner has laid into his Newport Gwent Dragons ahead of their local derby with Cardiff Blues.

Turner watched on helplessly as his side capitulated to a 37-10 loss in the Heineken Cup after entering the changing rooms level at 3-3 at halftime.

But the Dragons capitulated in a second-half horror show at Adams Park that saw them ship four tries.

Now with the resumption of Magners League action a busy festive period is approaching and Turner has called on The Men of Gwent to bounce back against the Cardiff Blues.

“It’s a harsh lesson, but they’ve been given a stern talking-to and we’ll wipe that away now before we play the Blues on Boxing Day,” said Turner.

“At half-time we felt we were well in it – in fact we were in the ascendancy – but then we gave three points to Dave Walder and our game just went.

“I’m pretty disappointed and there were a few harsh words said afterwards.”

The Dragons currently lie in eighth position in the Magners League and face the Blues on December 27 before taking on the Scarlets on January 1.
