Dan Parks is looking forward to plenty more moments of magic from Casey Laulala after being impressed with the former All Black since joining the Kiwi in Cardiff.

Laulala has made a big impression at the Cardiff City Stadium after arriving in Wales last November.

His quick hands and deadly step helped the Blues to Amlin Challenge Cup glory last year and have seen him establish himself as a firm crowd favourite.

Parks, who joined the Blues in the summer, has made a similar impression albeit for his tactical awareness and reliability rather than the flamboyance of Laulala.

And the Magners League’s record points scorer was full of praise for the 28-year-old New Zealander after his individual brilliance was the major bright point in a hard-fought 22-6 victory over Connacht on Thursday.

"When Casey gets a bit of space like in the Connacht game it's just special,” said Parks.

”It just makes you smile. Standing back you could just see he was going to step inside.

"He's a class act and is really good to watch. I've only played a few games with Case but I'm looking forward to playing with him more and more.

"You see the skills and the level of prowess he has in training, it's unbelievable. He's an absolute joy to play with and is a great guy.

"That try against Connacht got us that good cushion and we were never in danger from there. It was pretty special."
